ISO 14644-5:2004 - Cleanroom Standard

Scope of application

ISO 14644-5 cleanroom standard specifies the basic requirements for cleanroom operation. This standard is also intended for planning for the use and operation of cleanrooms.

Safety aspects not directly related to contamination control are not considered in this standard, and national and regional safety regulations must be considered.

This document considers all cleanliness levels used to create all types of products. Therefore, this standard has a wide scope of application and is not intended for the specific requirements of any particular industry.

Methods and procedures for regular monitoring within the cleanroom are not mentioned in detail in this standard but can be referred to ISO 14644-2 and ISO 14644-3 for particle monitoring, along with ISO 14698-1 and ISO 14698-2 for microorganism control.
