Modular cleanroom for laser head repair: bright, precise, and energy-efficient
Airkey Envirotech, a specialist cleanroom provider based in China, has completed a modular cleanroom project in the Netherlands, designed specifically for laser head repair and maintenance. The goal is to create a high-spec technical environment while ensuring efficiency and energy savings.
Structural design and ISO-based zoning
- Robust construction: An aluminum alloy frame combined with high-quality sandwich panels, using flush mounting to enhance durability and minimize air leakage.
- ISO-compliant control: The main cleanroom meets ISO 5 (Class 100), while the gowning room and storage area meet ISO 7 (Class 10,000), providing suitable environments for the highly precise steps involved in laser handling.

Harmonious integration of natural light
Two large double-glazed windows are aligned with the building’s architectural design, optimizing natural daylight, improving technicians’ visual performance, and reducing reliance on artificial lighting—while keeping the environment clean, visually appealing, and comfortable to work in.
Air filtration technology and effective energy savings
- Recirculating filtration system (FFU + cassette air conditioner): FFUs are installed in the ceiling to filter and recirculate air, working together with cassette air conditioners to provide stable airflow and energy savings. The entire system cuts energy consumption by up to 30% compared with traditional cleanroom designs.
Contamination-controlled material transfer solutions
The cleanroom is equipped with a large pass box air shower, customized to the client’s requirements. Its configuration includes:
- Interlocked double doors to prevent cross-contamination between areas.
- HEPA-filtered air shower, removing more than 99.99% of particles ≥ 0.3 µm before materials enter the cleanroom.
- Stainless steel working surfaces for long-term durability and ease of cleaning.
High-end engineering — meeting precise requirements
Mr. Li, CEO of Airkey, shared: “We fully understand how extremely sensitive laser optics are to particulate contamination. This project demonstrates our ability to create spaces that precisely meet technical requirements while optimizing operations in high-tech environments.”
The Netherlands project follows previous Airkey successes, including semiconductor production cleanrooms in Mexico, pharmaceutical research in the United States, and medical device manufacturing in the UAE.
